The Department of Economics at Virginia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in one of the following applied microeconomics areas: Health, Labor, Development, Education, or Public Finance. The new hire will conduct empirical research, teach at all levels, and occasionally be required to travel to professional meetings and conferences.
Ph.D. in economics or a related discipline is required at the time of appointment. Foreign equivalent accepted. The appointment will begin in August 2017. The Department is in a growth phase and will be hiring several positions over the next few years.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand or firmly expected by August 2017 and should show promise of significant scholarship and teaching ability.
