The Department of Economics at Virginia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track Associate Professor in one of the following applied microeconomics areas: Health, Labor and Development. The new hire will conduct empirical research, teach at all levels, and occasionally be required to travel to professional meetings and conferences. Candidates with a track record of external funding are preferred.
Ph.D. in economics or a related discipline is required at the time of appointment. Foreign equivalent accepted. The appointment will begin in August 2017. The Department is in a growth phase and will be hiring several positions over the next few years.
Candidates should have an earned doctorate in economics and an outstanding academic record including an internationally recognized level of professional achievement, commensurate with a tenured appointment at the rank of associate professor at Virginia Tech.
