The Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) at Erasmus University Rotterdam invites applicants for a six-year tenure-track position in the field of quantitative marketing at the Assistant Professor level beginning in Fall 2018 or an earlier mutually agreed upon data. This position is in the econometrics department of ESE. Among other things, this department is responsible for a bachelor and master programme in econometrics, in which one of the specializations is Business Analytics & Quantitative Marketing.
Candidates should provide evidence of outstanding research productivity or research potential and good teaching ability. ESE is among the most research-oriented schools in Europe. Its substantial marketing and econometrics research programs are very active and productive. This position focuses on quantitative marketing, mostly within the econometric tradition. We also welcome research using machine learning methodology. ESE offers a strong research culture, ample research resources, and moderate teaching loads. The school offers generous research support to its faculty, including travel budgets, access to databases and high-performance computing. ESE is supported by two research schools, the Erasmus Research Institute of Management and the Tinbergen Institute, both offering extensive research support to our faculty.
The university and the city of Rotterdam provide a pleasant working and living environment with all of the amenities and opportunities of a world-class city, but without much of its typical disadvantages. The use of English in daily life poses no problems. Rotterdam, with its first-rate public healthcare, public schooling system, and affordable housing at the center of Europe (Paris, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome are all within 2 hours flying time) is ideal for scholars who aim to focus on research for the next 4-6 years, but at the same time want comfortable living conditions.
Qualified candidates should apply by sending their vita, contact information for up to three recommendation letter writers, sample manuscripts and other materials preferably no later than July 7. Any questions concerning this position can be send to prof. Dennis Fok (email@example.com). Applicants can expect to hear of us soon, as any campus visits will likely be scheduled in September.
