Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in all areas of Economics
In the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF2014), Surrey ranked in the top ten of the UK Economics departments in terms of quality of research output and the percentage of top quality (4*) papers; weighted by the percentage of staff submitted we ranked joint 6th.
The School now has six major research groups (Macro, Theory, Applied Micro, Econometrics, Energy Economics and Health Economics). Most of the groups run weekly workshops (in parallel with the more traditional weekly school seminar), where staff and doctoral students host and interact with speakers from the UK and abroad.
This year we are particularly interested in Applied Micro, Applied Macro, Development, Finance and Environmental Economics candidates, but strong applications from other fields are also welcome. Candidates should hold a relevant PhD, and should have already established a track record of publishing in top international journals.
In return we offer a competitive remuneration package, which includes relocation assistance where appropriate, modern teaching facilities, and access to a variety of staff development opportunities.
Applicants must apply online at EconJobMarket.org by the 1st of December 2017. Please submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and research papers.
Informal enquires should be directed in the first instance to Professor Joao Santos Silva, Head of School, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org containing "Surrey appointments 2017” in the subject line.
We acknowledge, understand and embrace cultural diversity.
