    The Department of Economics at Umeå School of Business and Economics is looking for a promising researcher in applied or theoretical econometrics to join our group.

    The Post-doctoral scholarship is financed by Tore Browaldh’s Foundation, Handelsbanken. The holder of the scholarships is expected to perform and publish research in their specialist areas, and to contribute to the development of the research of the department of economics. Funding is for an initial period of three years but can be extended for three additional years subject to a review of the research contribution.

    The Department of Economics at Umeå School of Business and Economics has a well-established tradition in econometrics research. The focus has been and continues to be on both methodology and applications in various areas of economics, including labour economics, public economics, finance, environmental and resource economics, health economics. Current research interests of the econometric group cover distribution theory, identification of econometric models, microeconometrics in particular of structural models of labour market behavior, econometrics of auctions models applied to the analysis of public procurements and in health economics, factor models, etc. Our aim is to make the Department of Economics a Centre of excellence in Econometrics.

    Starting Date: March 1 2018, or later by agreement.

    Eligibility requirements
    Applicants will have obtained their PhD degree within five years from the application date.

    Assessment criteria
    •Demonstrated ability to conduct relevant research of high international quality;
    •A promising publication record;
    •Willingness to collaborate on research activities in economics in an international research environment;
    •Potential ability to attract external research funding.

    The primary basis for selection will be the ability to carry out and publish high quality research in economics and to contribute to the research activities of the Department of Economics.
