However, the relative proportions of duties may change over time in line with access to external research grants.

This also involves an active effort to apply for external research grants and to develop collaborations both with units within the University as well as other national and international organizations working in similar fields.
The position also includes teaching at the School's courses in Business Administration at the undergraduate and advanced levels. Most of the courses in corporate finance are conducted within the program Master of Science in Accounting and Finance. Teaching is mainly in English. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong and clear research agenda with research output, either published or publishable, of a standard equivalent to peer-reviewed international quality.

Basis of assessment
Corporate finance is founded in a microeconomic and contractual theory base that primarily focuses on the importance of information asymmetries and agency problems for the company's financial decisionmaking. The majority of research uses econometric techniques, not least panel economics and microeconometrics. Experience in applied econometric research in corporate finance is therefore a requirement. Research focusing on the importance of adverse selection and agency problems in corporate finance, and especially in corporate funding and corporate risk management is an advantage. The applicant should describe current research themes and present a research plan for the next few years, and how this will contribute to the research at the Department. Scientific qualifications will be evaluated mainly based on quality and number of peer-reviewed scientific publications. Today, research and postgraduate studies at the university are largely based on the ability and competence of the individual researcher to obtain external funding. Hence, a capability to obtain research grants in national or international competition is a requirement.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience and ability in teaching in corporate finance. Experience in teaching on econometrics, and especially panel and microeconometrics is an advantage. The education is based largely on skills-oriented case- and project-based pedagogics, and experience of case and/or project-based teaching is a merit. Documented experience and ability to teach and develop advanced-level courses is meritorious. Ability to teach in English is a requirement. Documented experience in communicating research outputs and societal impact are likewise merits.
The Accounting and Finance section is a smaller unit where collegial interaction and the individual's efforts are of great importance. Consideration will therefore be given to teamwork skills and power of initiative and how the applicant, through his experience and competence, is expected to supplement and contribute to the section's education, research and collaboration.
The assessment of teaching expertise shall be given equal weight to the assessment of research expertise. When making the application, consideration will be given to the Lund University Appointment Rules. It is expected that any non-Swedish speaking appointee within a three-year period will master the Swedish language well enough to be able to teach and to communicate with the university administration in Swedish.
