Professors provide intellectual and technical leadership; develop, oversee, and execute a portfolio of projects and research grants; manage and supervise teams of younger faculty members and external consultants engaged on project basis. The position requires experienced, passionate, and visionary economists to lead and play a pivotal role in driving impactful cutting-edge economic policy research through comprehensive economic analysis and foresight to shape current and future research agendas in their respective areas. The candidate should have in-depth analytical expertise, a high level of flexibility, self-motivation, and drive to engage with senior ranks of policy makers and donors to attract research grants. The candidates must possess PhD in economics and related fields and a strong record of impactful contributions in research/ teaching/grant writing/ government service/consulting, and publications. Minimum experience of 15 to 20 years.
Senior Fellows provide intellectual and technical leadership; develop, oversee, and execute a portfolio of projects and research grants; manage and supervise teams of younger faculty members and external consultants engaged on project basis. The candidate should be able to deliver agreed research outputs to sponsors on a timely basis consistent with NCAER’s quality norms; contribute to research dissemination; and, interact with policymakers at state and central government levels independently. The candidates must possess PhD in economics and related fields and possess a strong record of research/policy analysis/teaching/grant writing/government service/consulting, and publications across multiple previous positions.. Minimum experience of 10 to 15 years.
Fellows are mid-career professionals with a strong, post-PhD record of research/policy analysis/teaching/grant writing/government service/consulting, and publications across multiple previous positions. Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years.
Associate Fellows can have nearly completed PhDs with cutting-edge analytical expertise in applied econometrics, CGE modelling, policy analysis, and familiarity of economic databases and econometric software; a high level of flexibility, self-motivation; and excellent writing skills to prepare research reports/papers/newspaper articles,. Exceptional candidates with MPAs/MBAs/MAs/M Phil degrees can also be considered.
Appointments are renewable with 5-year contracts on competitive salaries.
