Danmarks Nationalbank, the central bank of Denmark, has established in 2017 an independent Research Unit with the aim of conducting research in all aspects of macroeconomics and finance, and developing economic models and tools to support Danmarks Nationalbank's policy decisions. Economists in the Research Unit are expected to produce high-quality research to be published in refereed journals and will benefit from an outstanding research environment, strong ties with the academic community, and integration with the policy workflow. JOB DESCRIPTION: Applications focusing on household finance, banking, fintech, housing economics, general equilibrium model estimation are of primary interest, though all high quality applications in fields relevant to Nationalbank policy areas will be considered. The Research Unit is especially targeting applicants with microeconometric skills able to exploit the extensive financial, household and firm administrative microdata available in Denmark, including a Credit Register containing microdata on lending by Danish financial institutions to all types of debtors. Experienced applicants with 3 to 10 years of experience since graduation are also strongly encouraged to apply.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in economics or finance. For senior positions, a proven publication track record in top-tier professional journals, demonstrated leadership in research and experience with assessing policy challenges are expected. Knowledge of Danish is not required.
