Helsinki Graduate School of Economics (Helsinki GSE) is an academic initiative bringing together three Finnish universities – Aalto University, Hanken School of Economics, and University of Helsinki. ASSISTANT OR FULL PROFESSORSHIPS IN ECONOMICS
The Discipline of Economics is seeking to fill up to three positions at the rank of Assistant or Full Professor, starting September 2019. Applicants should have a PhD degree in Economics or Finance before taking up the position. Applicants at the rank of Full Professor should have an established academic record commensurate with the position.
The Discipline provides methodologically oriented, state-of-the-art training in economics. Two positions are in the field of macroeconomics and one is in any field given the methodological focus in training.
The Discipline offers an exciting research environment and competitive terms and conditions. The new positions are part of the rapid expansion of Helsinki GSE. All graduate teaching is in English. Knowledge of Finnish is not a requirement.
The appointed assistant professor will be expected to carry out research, provide teaching (particularly of advanced and postgraduate studies) and supervise theses. She/He will also be responsible for various administrative and support functions, including procuring external research funding, and for societal interaction. For the rank of Full Professor, leadership and interaction skills are required.
