The Department of Economics at the University of Technology Sydney is seeking to make two tenure-track appointments at the level of Lecturer (Assistant Professor) or Senior Lecturer.

 

Applicants must have a PhD completed or near completion and should demonstrate evidence of research excellence and a commitment to quality teaching. Successful applicants will be expected to teach in the undergraduate and postgraduate (including PhD) programs, to supervise postgraduate research, and to develop an independent research program that achieves international recognition.

 

Applicants with expertise in any area of economics will be considered, but we are especially interested in the fields of Econometrics and Macroeconomics.

 

The Economics Department at UTS is recognised for producing research of the highest quality and its achievements are reflected by the national and international rankings. In the most recent 2018 Excellence in Research for Australia assessment, both Economic Theory and Econometrics fields at UTS were rated 5 (maximum) and Applied Economics was rated 4, placing Economics at UTS among the top Economic departments in Australia.

 

The Economics Department runs a US-style course-work founded PhD program, organizes two weekly seminars where internationally recognized scholars present their research, regularly hosts national and international events. The Economics Department has strong ties with the Centre for Policy and Market Design (CPMD) and the UTS Behavioural Lab.
