The Business School of the University of Amsterdam is seeking candidates for the following position:

- Assistant Professor of Finance (tenure track), or

- Associate Professor of Finance (tenured)

We welcome applications from highly qualified candidates in all major fields in finance.

Requirements are a Ph.D. (completed or near completion) and the ability to conduct state-of-the-art academic research, to stimulate and encourage the research of others and the ability to communicate research in seminars and in the classroom. Assistant Professor appointments are tenure-track positions.

The Finance Group at the University of Amsterdam is an internationally recognized research group with a strong focus on high-quality academic research. Faculty members regularly publish in top- finance and economics journals and present their work at top academic conferences every year. The group is very collegial and diverse, with 15 different nationalities. Our weekly academic seminar series features prominent speakers. We also maintain strong links to top schools in North America where many faculty members have studied or taught previously, and in Europe, where the group participates in several academic networks. The Finance Group offers courses at the undergraduate, graduate, executive (MBA and Master in International Finance) and Ph.D. (at the Tinbergen Institute) levels. The teaching load is reasonable and can be concentrated both in time and in preparations. The working language (including teaching) is English.

Our newly designed campus is located in the city centre of Amsterdam. Amsterdam is one of the most vibrant and friendliest cities in Europe with an exceptionally high quality of life. Almost everyone in the Netherlands speaks fluent English. The compensation package is competitive relative to European salaries.
