University of Milan, Italy – Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods (DEMM).
The Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods (DEMM) is recruiting at the post-doc level in Economics beginning at the latest in September 2021. Candidates should have completed a doctorate by this date. The Department is interested in applicants with the capability to publish in leading journals. An established track record of publications in top generalist or top field journals is appreciated but not required at this stage. We welcome applications from all areas of economics. The successful candidates shall contribute to the research excellence of the Department: candidates therefore are expected to have a well-developed research agenda, and must be willing to work jointly with resident fellow academics on projects of mutual interest. Teaching is not a mandatory component of this post; however, a limited opportunity for this activity could be arranged, should the successful candidates be interested in developing this aspect of their c.v.
The University of Milan is a major research and teaching institution located in one of Europe’s most thriving cities. According to RepEc, the Department of Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods – DEMM - is one of the top departments of economics in Italy. The recent Italian research assessment exercise (VQR 2011-2014) placed DEMM among the top 10 departments in the area of economics, management and statistics in Italy. DEMM was also selected as one of the “Departments of Excellence” (Dipartimento di Eccellenza) by the Italian ministry of education (MIUR), and was awarded a generous grant to set up the Centre of Excellence in Economics and Data Science (CEEDS).
Net salary is about 21,000€ (24,000€ for candidates holding a non-Italian PhD) per annum (the post is for two+two years).

All research activities and most communications within the department are carried out in English.
