The ideal candidate should have a strong research agenda focusing on empirics. Applications from all fields will be considered, with preference given to candidates working on topics in industrial organization, macroeconomics, green/sustainable finance, and green/sustainable central banking and monetary policy. Successful candidates are mainly expected to engage in high-quality academic research and to teach in the University’s master program on central banking while maintaining a low teaching load. Also, they may occasionally be requested to perform policy-oriented research or to provide technical assistance at the Central Bank.

Participation at conferences, workshops, summer schools are encouraged and financially supported. The in-house Budapest School of Central Bank Studies provides a unique opportunity to meet and learn from leading experts in various fields of economics.

The MNB jointly with the Institute are equal opportunity employers and offer competitive salaries and benefits.

The initial contract is for a two-year period, which can be renewed.
