Post-Doctoral Stipendiary Research Fellowship in the Economics of Inequality, 2021–2025
Salary: The total remuneration is on a scale determined by qualification and experience rising to £28,000 plus benefits; these benefits include either subsidised accommodation in College or a £4,000 per annum housing allowance.

King’s College in partnership with the Faculty of Economics Cambridge, and through the generosity of the SHARE initiative (Supporting Human Achievement through Research based on Egalitarianism) is inviting applications for a four-year Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship from those who are completing or have recently completed a doctorate and who intend to pursue a research project on some aspect of the study of issues related to Egalitarian Capitalism. This post-doctoral Fellowship is intended to enable the successful candidate to complete a substantial research project. Possible areas of research might include, but are not limited to, intergenerational wealth transfer; human capital (improving potential productivity through education and training); disintermediation; and mass ownership.
The Research Fellow will join a dynamic group co-ordinated in the Faculty of Economics by Prof. Eric French, including a PhD student. It is envisaged that the members of the group will work independently but to mutual advantage, to achieve significant exposure for the initiative both through academic publication in top international journals and through conferences, web presence, and appropriate media impact.
The ideal candidate for this Research Fellowship will have a strong background in economics and strong empirical skills. The successful candidate will be expected to engage broadly with the whole college community and to help organise academic activities in the form of seminars/workshops/conferences.
A Research Fellowship is a postdoctoral position tenable for up to 4 years. Applications are welcome from graduates of any university. Candidates will usually have completed their PhD, but must not have undertaken more than 2 years of postdoctoral work by 1st October 2021 (i.e. your PhD cannot have been granted before 30th September 2019).
