Prosper Portland, the City of Portland’s economic development agency, seeks an Economic Data Analyst to gather, analyze, and communicate economic trends, forecasts and metrics, and manage data collection. The Economic Data Analyst will serve as a Prosper Portland’s leader on leveraging available data to inform the development of economic indicators and metrics. They will identify gaps in available data and create data collection strategies. The position will provide data, synthesis, and information that will be shared with internal staff, the Prosper Portland Board of Commissioners, City Council, and other key partners.

The ideal candidate will have experience utilizing a racial equity lens in their analyses, to understand the complexity of data analysis and reporting. This position manages the gathering, disaggregating, interpreting, and communication of economic trends, forecasts, and metrics to enhance the agency’s understanding of economic conditions, inequities, and opportunities. This position applies both technical and relational expertise in research, analysis, synthesis, and reporting with an equity lens to understand business, workforce, commercial real estate, and industry dynamics across Portland. Their expertise will inform the agency’s work to build and sustain a vibrant, inclusive economy and a sustainable agency.
