Job Description and Position
The dSEA is seeking to fill four positions in the following areas:

[Political Economy/Public Economics]
Both theoretical and applied applicants are welcome, but preference will be given to candidates who do empirical research in the area of Political Economy/Public Economics.

[Environmental Economics]
The ideal candidate should have expertise in empirical and/or experimental research in the area of energy and environmental economics. The successful candidate will be asked to contribute to a research project about (a) consumer choice and ecological transition; (b) policy evaluation at the macro and micro level, with reference to incentives for energy savings and for fighting energy poverty; and to incentives for fostering investment in low emitting technologies.

[Applied Economics 1]
The ideal candidate should have research expertise on the economic, institutional and social factors that affect investment in human capital. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the design and implementation of a new online survey aimed at exploring the drivers of students’ choices about the secondary school track.

[Applied Economics 2]
The ideal candidate should have research expertise on the evaluation of public policies, with particular emphasis on applied topics in political economy, public sector economics, personnel economics and management practices in healthcare and education. The successful candidate will contribute to a research project about the interlinkage between the choice of the secondary school track, the choice of continuing to tertiary education and, in this case, which major to take. The project also includes the design and implementation of an online survey.

Salary and Workload
The annual gross salary is approx. €36.000 (Assistant Professor) Whilst this is not negotiable, the faculty member will enjoy bi-annual increases upon meeting targets as defined by the University of Padua. Depending on individual circumstances (e.g., being non-Italian resident for the past two years), the successful candidate may qualify for generous tax exemption (here for an unofficial but clear explanation of the mechanism at work).

Application procedure
Applications should be received by Friday, 18 November 2022.
Applicants should submit a Curriculum Vitae, a completed research paper, and indicate two referees at hiring.economia@unipd.it.
Interviews will be conducted remotely by video at the European Job Market, 12-14 December 2022.
