The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts invites applications for one tenure-track position in Economics at the Assistant Professor level.

We seek a scholar who will contribute with innovative research to our programs in Applied Microeconomics (including subfields like labor, education, public, environmental, immigration, innovation, economic history, or applied microeconometrics) and Applied Macroeconomics (with a special interest in economic growth, development, or culture and institutions).

The recommended candidate will be expected to actively engage in the life of the department and academy at UC Merced. Candidates must have a PhD in Economics by the position start date of July 1, 2023.

Applications must be submitted online. An initial review of the completed applications will take place on December 1, 2022. Applicants are encouraged to complete their applications prior to this date. Interested applicants are required to submit 1) a cover letter; 2) curriculum vitae; 3) statement of research; 4) statement of teaching; 5) one writing samples; 6) a contributions to diversity statement; and, 7) a list of references with contact information including mailing address, phone number and e-mail address. This position will remain open until filled.

Applicants for the Assistant Professor level should arrange to have three letters of reference submitted online. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and UC academic salary scales.
