QUALIFICATIONS

1. Applicants in all areas of finance are invited to apply.

3. Our search is open for all ranks: Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors. Applicants for the Assistant Professor position should exhibit high potential in research and teaching, and applicants for the Associate and Full Professor positions should have demonstrated excellence in academic research (as evidenced by publications in top-tier academic journals) and teaching. We also consider hiring seasoned Assistant Professors with a strong pipeline.

China-ASEAN Institute of Financial Cooperation (CAIFC) was established by the government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in accordance with the policy directives approved by the State Council of the PRC to promote financial cooperation between China and ASEAN countries (China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership Vision 2030). CAIFC aims to build a world-class research and advanced learning institution, a high-end finance think tank, an incubator of finance innovations, and a multilateral platform of financial cooperation.

I. About the position and job qualifications:

We are looking for excellent experienced, newly qualified, or final year PhDs in economics or related fields, who have a strong background in quantitative methods and/or central banking and/or finance, to contribute to our academic output (both regarding research and teaching) and aspire to publish in leading journals in economics, banking, finance, and data science.

The ideal candidate should have a strong research agenda focusing on empirics. Applications from all fields will be considered, with preference given to candidates working on topics in industrial organization, macroeconomics, green/sustainable finance, and green/sustainable central banking and monetary policy. Knowledge of Hungarian is not required.

Applications from candidates working with micro data are also encouraged, as the MNB provides an outstanding research environment, with access to many exclusive micro-level data sets.

Successful candidates are mainly expected to engage in high-quality academic research and to teach in the University’s master program on central banking while maintaining a low teaching load. Also, they may occasionally be requested to perform policy-oriented research or to provide technical assistance at the Central Bank.

Participation at conferences, workshops, summer schools are encouraged and financially supported. The in-house Budapest School of Central Bank Studies provides a unique opportunity to meet and learn from leading experts in various fields of economics.

The Econometric Institute at Erasmus University Rotterdam invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level starting in September 2021.

Applicants should have (or be very near completion of) a PhD by the start date. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in research and teaching and a commitment to university service. We are particularly interested in candidates with a PhD in the area of machine learning, data science, computational statistics, econometrics, and/or operations research.

About the Econometric Institute

The Econometric Institute has a long and strong research tradition in econometrics, statistics, data science, and operations research, with 50 faculty members across these areas. Research at the Econometric Institute focuses on developing novel methods in econometrics and operations research, and on applications of such methods in finance, marketing, macroeconomics, transportation and logistics.

The Econometric Institute is part of an active research community within the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE). ESE is one of the largest and most successful economics schools in Europe, offering excellent research facilities to its faculty. The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics (AREC) is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor of Practice position to teach courses in environmental and resource economics, and related areas. This is a 9-month, full-time appointment with the following split: 80% instruction; 10% research; and 10% service. The position is non-tenure track with established promotion guidelines to advance in rank at the University of Arizona. Duties and Responsibilities

· Teach six AREC courses during the academic year (fall, spring semesters, mix of live and online) in environmental and resource economics, and related areas. Summer school teaching, paying additional stipend, is highly encouraged.

· Provide mentoring and supervision to undergraduate and graduate students (e.g., honors student theses, independent study projects, supervision of graduate teaching assistants and preceptors, graduate student advising).

· Work with faculty and advisors in developing curriculum, delivering classroom instruction, fomenting career-readiness preparation, and monitoring outcome assessments.

· Engage in professional development in instruction both on campus as well as nationally.

· Demonstrate a strong interest in collaboration and engagement with diverse communities.

Minimum Qualifications

· Ph.D. degree in agricultural economics, environmental and resource economics, or related discipline.

· Relevant teaching and student mentoring experience in classroom settings.

· Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching.

· Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Demonstrated experience in and/or knowledge of environmental and resource economics and related disciplinary areas.

Expectations

The recruited candidates will be expected to do interdisciplinary research in collaboration with other SAS faculty members and/or external researches. The standard working load is 45%/45%/10% for Research/Teaching/Service, respectively. Teaching at SAS involves only small classes (20 students max) and remarkable flexibility in creating your own electives. Knowledge of Russian is NOT required.

Offer

Normally, we offer one-year or three-year full-time renewable contracts starting in August (with no limit to the number of renewals). We can also consider suitable and interested candidates for an initial visiting professor appointment as early as Spring 2021.

The assistant professor will be located within the department of Accounting (Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, The Netherlands). The department of Accounting (https://www.rug.nl/(...)artments/accounting/) is a medium-sized group of around 35 academics coming from a variety of countries. We are active in areas like auditing, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, financial accounting and reporting, management accounting and control, tax and corporate law.

We teach on accounting and control in several bachelor programmes as well as in the master programmes Business Administration and Accountancy and Controlling. We also have a footing in executive master programmes, like the Executive Master of Finance and Control. Besides, the department participates in the Research Master programme, a challenging 2-year master programme intended for students aiming at a PhD.

Conditions of employment

Within the department of Accounting, a full-time position is vacant for a tenure track assistant professor. The vacancy comprises a full-time position, but an 80% or 90% appointment is possible as well, based on the preferences of the candidate.

Tenure track positions are temporary positions and are subject to a tenure decision at the end of the contract. Formal tenure track requirements include criteria concerning research prominence, teaching, and external fundraising activities. During the tenure track period, 50% of the position is reserved for research and 50% is devoted to teaching activities. In accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch universities, we offer:

• a salary depending on qualifications and work experience, starting from a minimum of € 3,746 gross per month (salary scale 11) to a maximum of € 5,826 gross per month (salary scale 12) for a full-time position
• a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual income and an 8.3% year-end bonus, as well as participation in a solid state pension scheme. Non-Dutch applicants may qualify for a tax-free allowance equal to 30% of their taxable salary. A full-time position entitles you to 41 days of annual leave based on full-time employment
• initially an appointment for seven years, on the condition of a positive mid-term evaluation at the end of the third year of employment. Based on a positive final evaluation at the beginning of the sixth year at the latest, tenure will be granted. Tenure entails a permanent contract and promotion to the rank of associate professor. The seventh year is intended to compensate for any ‘life events’ (e.g., prolonged illness or parental leave) which might take place during the first six years. The tenure track system 2020 applies.

Starting date is negotiable but preferably around 1 September 2021.
