    The School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary University of London invites applications from scholars of international distinction for appointments at the rank of Reader in any fields in economics and finance, with particular interest in econometrics, finance and financial econometrics.

    Queen Mary University of London is one of the world’s leading universities (in the top one per cent of universities in the world according to the Times Higher Education). It has an impressive reputation for academic excellence across the humanities, social sciences, law, medicine and dentistry, and science and engineering. The School is highly regarded as one of the top economics and finance departments in the UK.

    The successful candidate must have an undergraduate and postgraduate degree and/or relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent professional experience. A clear international profile and reputation for excellence and a well-established academic network are also essential requirements. All applicants should be able to demonstrate the capacity to research and publish at the highest international levels, and to teach and supervise effectively across our main undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Applicants will have an outstanding record of publications with demonstrable impact in the field.

    While experience of academic leadership roles is desirable, a willingness to contribute to academic leadership in the School is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of recognition and achievement commensurate with the seniority of the post through, for example, attracting research funding, leading research teams, shaping learned associations or journals, and/or demonstrating social impact of their research.

    The appointment is expected to be full-time and permanent. The starting salary is competitive and not less than £53,777 per annum (Grade 7). Salary scales can be found here In addition, this post attracts a market supplement and there is discretion to apply between 35% and 50% of salary depending on current market conditions.
