    The Department of Economics (DSE) at the University of Bologna invites expressions of interest for two full-time Fixed-Term Assistant Professorships and one/two Senior (Tenure-Track) Assistant Professorships in any research area. This post builds on our recent program of expansion aimed at hiring talented researchers from worldwide leading institutions to further promote scientific excellence in research, and world-class undergraduate and graduate education.


    Full-time Fixed-Term Assistant Professorships are for three years starting in September 2018 and renewable for three more years after a mid-term evaluation. At any time, candidates will be considered for a Senior (Tenure-Track) Assistant Professorships position (see below), which requires at least three years of experience after graduation, according to the Italian law. Teaching is optional, and in any case at the graduate level. Knowledge of Italian is not required.


    Senior (Tenure-Track) Assistant Professorships are for three years starting in September 2018, then subject to evaluation the position will be converted in a standard Associate Professorship. Applicants for this position must have at least three years of experience after graduation and an already advanced publication record. Teaching is required (60 hours), while knowledge of Italian is not.

    Application Instructions

    The DSE will schedule interviews at the XLII Simposio de Análisis Económico (SAEe) in Barcelona. Candidates who do not plan to attend the SAE shall mention it in their cover letter, and a selected group may be interviewed on Skype.
