The Department of Economics at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics, and Business at Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a permanent professorship position under private law for a

"Professor for Microeconomics"

to begin as soon as possible. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the Austrian Universities Act. An evaluation will be conducted after a five-year period.

The ideal candidate should have excellent credentials in the field of Microeconomics and conduct theoretically founded research on topics relevant to economic or social policy.

Links to the main research areas of the Department of Economics are desired. Exemplary research fields include: Industrial Economics, Informational Economics, International Economics, Personal and Organizational Economics, Political Economy, Public Economics, and Behavioral Economics. The Department is organized along the lines of an American department system. The professorship will be integrated into the department structure.

The successful candidate is expected to represent and further develop the field of “Microeconomics” in research and teaching. They should contribute to (a) the Department’s undergraduate, graduate, and PhD level programs and (b) also teach theoretical courses. Applicants for the position must have a venia docendi (habilitation degree) in economics or a comparable post-doctorate qualification.

A salary above the minimum amount (which is currently 89,075.00 € before taxes) as stated in the collective agreement will be voluntarily offered.
