WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, Economics Department, St. Louis, MO

Any Field

We invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with a fall 2025 starting date. We are interested in candidates in any field of economics, including, but not limited to, the following examples: theoretical-based empirical studies using big datasets, general equilibrium(systemic) analysis of the aggregate and distributional impacts of policies and new technologies, and foundational theoretical work exploring market and non-market social interactions. Candidates must have an active research agenda and a commitment to excellent teaching and hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field by the start of the appointment. Candidates for the rank of associate professor should have an outstanding teaching, service, and publication record commensurate with tenure at that rank. Applications should include a CV, three letters of reference, and research papers. Applicants with teaching experience should also submit evidence of their teaching ability. Priority will be given to applications received by November 17, 2024, but candidates will be evaluated on a rolling basis, so early application is strongly encouraged. Duties include research for publication in peer-reviewed economics journals, teaching duties, and departmental and university service. Washington University in St. Louis is committed to the principles and practices of equal employment opportunity and especially encourages applications by those underrepresented in their academic fields. It is the University’s policy to provide equal opportunity and access to persons in all job titles without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or genetic information.
