The Department of Public Finance at the University of Innsbruck is seeking to fill a position as a

Postdoctoral Research Fellow (6 years)

in Applied Microeconomics.

The appointments will be for a period of 6 years (40 hours/week), starting September 01, 2026 or by agreement. The successful candidate will join the Faculty of Economics and Statistics at the University of Innsbruck. The main tasks of the successful candidate are to conduct independent research in the field of Applied Microeconomics as well as limited teaching obligations and administrative support.

Your qualifications include:

  • Ph.D. in Economics or a related field (completed by the start date)
  • Research achievements in the field of Applied Microeconomics, preferably with a focus on Public Economics and Political Economy
  • Proficiency with state-of-the-art methods in microeconomics and empirical / experimental economics
  • Proficiency in English (German language skills are not required)
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
