The Department of Economics and Management at CY Cergy Paris Université and the Thema research center invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, starting in September 2025.

The position carries a 5-year tenure clock – which can be shortened to 3 years for candidates with sufficient experience and a strong publication record – with a significantly reduced teaching load and a substantial research budget during the tenure clock. A decision for promotion to a tenured position at the full professor rank will be made at the end of the tenure clock.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD degree by the appointment date and show outstanding research potential. Ability to teach in French is not required but will be taken into consideration in the tenure decision.

It is ideal for an individual with a strong academic, industry, and/or policy background in economics and data science.

Position Overview

The Executive Director will provide oversight to the MEDS program, helping to guide the curriculum, mentoring students, and fostering collaborative partnerships between academia and industry. The objective of the program is to foster students’ knowledge and skills in three primary areas: developing and implementing economic models for decision making, extracting information from data using state-of-the-art econometric and machine learning techniques, and acquiring proficiency in relevant software. The successful candidate will be skilled in economics or data science (preferably both), with academic credentials and a proven track record of integrating research and practice. Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE) is seeking to recruit a Professor in Economics under the Junior Chair Programme (Chaire de Professeur Junior). This programme includes substantial research funding and a 50% reduction in teaching load for the first three years (64 hours per year instead of 128). The working languages at AMSE are English and French. The ability to teach in French is required from the fourth academic year. The starting gross monthly salary is €4,061. The salary will evolve according to the procedures and scale for university professors (currently, the maximum gross monthly salary is approximately €6,500).

Candidates must have a completed, or soon to be completed, Ph.D. in Economics, or related fields, at the time of appointment and have demonstrated excellence, or promise of excellence, in research and teaching. The successful candidate is expected to seek external funding for their research program. They will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise graduate students in their areas of expertise. Among the undergraduate courses, the candidate will be required to teach one course in the area of Urban/Regional Economics, a course that will contribute to programs in Regional and Urban Planning.

Salary bands for this position for the 2025-2026 academic year are as follows:

Assistant Professor: $110,489 to $131,900; Associate Professor: $131,909 to $153,329; and Professor $153,329 to $178,319.

The Department of Economics is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow (Departmental Lecturer).

The Department of Economics at Oxford University is one of the largest and most diverse groups of academic economists in Europe and is committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. Available to start from 01st September 2025.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Department, you will provide tutorials for undergraduate students as well as lectures, classes, supervision for undergraduate and graduate students in Economics.

You will have a doctorate in Economics, or be close to completion (having submitted your thesis by 31 August 2025), and demonstrate an ability to teach high-achieving students on a broad range of topics.
