The Department of Economics at the School of Business is now looking for a

Lecturer in Macroeconomics

The position is a full-time fixed-term lecturer position for three years. The position will be filled at either University teacher, Lecturer, University Lecturer or Senior University Lecturer level. Please see more information on the lecturer track.

Your role and goals

The position is in the field of macroeconomics. Taking into account your specific expertise, the job involves teaching courses in economics at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, thesis supervision, and independent research. You will also contribute to the planning and management of courses, curriculum design, development of teaching, student tutoring and administrative tasks. The language of teaching is English so the applicants are expected to have high proficiency in English. While the emphasis of the post is on teaching, the lecturer is expected to conduct research and follow up the development of their own field. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree. The job is located at the Aalto University campus in Otaniemi, Espoo. The salary will be determined according to the salary scales of the General collective agreement for universities.

The Department of Economics at Aalto University is a significant research and education unit with study programs at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. The department operates together with University of Helsinki and Hanken School of Economics to form Helsinki Graduate School of Economics.
