    An applicant can now choose to share the links to the videos in their "document store" with all recruiters, not only recruiters with postings to which s/he has applied.

    If you advertise on EconJobMarket, then whether or not you collect applications on EconJobMarket, you can use (at no charge) our interview-scheduling system. It allows you to create a matrix of slots for your remote interviews and then select the candidates you would like to interview. The system takes it from there, automatically emailing the candidates and helping them select among available slots. It also allows for easy rescheduling of interviews.

    An applicant can now share a page that lists all the postings for the positions to which s/he has applied with any number of other people. The page is visible only to the applicant and other users s/he designates, and the applicant can remove a share at any time.

    csv files of postings downloaded from our pages of job listings now include for each position the URL of the posting in our system. In addition, an applicant can download a file of postings that includes exactly the ones to which s/he has applied (using a button on her/his applicant's page).

    A Reviewer can now submit an extended comment on any application, independently of any rating scheme. A Manager can choose the name of the extended comments (e.g. "Summary/critique", "Evaluation") and can assign Reviewers to write comments, which will be visible to all Reviewers. An extended evaluation might be requested for each applicant who is to be interviewed, to help the interviewing team, for example.

    2020-11-20   EconJobMarket’s New Event-Posting Service Recommender Applicant
    EJM now offers an event-posting service, free to all registered users. Candidates and placements directors can use this service to publicly advertise on-line events, such as remote poster sessions and presentations, that introduce candidates to recruiters. If you are interested in scheduling such an event later this year or in the spring, please post your event on EJM. For more information, please see the EconJobMarket Events page.

    2020-11-18   Page of applicants can now be customized with indicators of applicants' answers to multiple-choice questions on application form Recruiter
    Recruiting Managers can now customize the page of applicants for a position. For any answer to any of the multiple-choice questions on their application forms, they can assign a marker that will appear beside the names of applicants who submitted that answer on the page listing all applicants. Click the "Customize page" button on the page listing the applicants for a position.

    We have improved the management of video interviews by recruiters. A URL for each interview, or a single URL for a group of interviews, can now be entered and easily communicated to the applicants.     EconJobMarket now allows individual faculty members to post advertisements for Research Assistants (including pre-docs). To post an advertisement for an RA, first request a personal recruiter account. You can post an RA ad at no charge.

    When a recruiter sets the type of an interview group to be "video", they are prompted for the timezone they will be in; when an applicant chooses a slot for a video interview, they are prompted for the timezone they will be in, and the times they are shown are adjusted for that timezone.

    For each of a recommenders' applicants, applications are now sorted by the deadline for the position, with the earliest first (so that the most pressing requests are shown first). Applications submitted more than 6 months ago are hidden by default, but the recommender has the option to show them.

    A recruiting Manager can select, for each Reviewer, positions for which the reviewer cannot see the applications. (A Manager may want to block a Reviewer from seeing the applications to a position to which someone personally connected to the Reviewer has applied, for example.)

    A recruiter can include questions on the application form for a position whose answers are visible only to managers and only after an ad closes; these answers are not visible to reviewers of applications. This functionality is designed for questions about personal characteristics that a recruiter is required to collect but is not permitted to use when evaluating applications.

    In the case that an applicant requests a person as their recommender with the same first and last names as an existing user, lead them through the process of determining whether the existing user is the person they want.

    A proxy can now remove a recommender from their list (which may be appropriate if, for example, the recommender has moved to a different institution).

    A user (in particular an applicant) can download a csv file of all current postings, with the text of the ad in markdown format. Once a user has downloaded a file, the next time they request a download they have the option to get only those ads that have been posted since the last time they downloaded a file of postings.

    Notifications to recommenders regarding applicants who have named them in applications now give the title of the advertisement and the identity of the recruiter.

    A recruiter can specify a message and optionally a URL to be displayed to each applicant when their application becomes complete. The message can be used, for example, to ask the applicant to submit a supplementary form at the URL specified, or simply to invite the applicant to visit the recruiter's website. Specifying a message is optional.

    If recruiter changes the status of their ad to "Position filled" or "Search suspended", they now have the option to stop posting the ad.

    Featured ads are now displayed at the top of the page of all job postings, and for any search for which a featured ad is included in the results, that ad is shown at the top of the results.
