The Department of Economics of the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor position (post-doc) in Macroeconomics. The position is a 100% (40 hours/week, employee subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff - Angestellte/r gemäß Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer/innen der Universitäten). The position will be limited to a period of six years. The position is expected to begin on September 1, 2025. The gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year is € 4.752,30 subject to adjustment if candidates can document relevant prior professional experience.
The Department of Economics offers an active and internationally oriented research environment. The successful candidates’ research focus should be in the field of Macroeconomics. You will join the faculty of the Department of Economics and are expected to provide a good fit to its current research environment, as well as to cultivate excellence and contribute to the research, teaching, and service activities in the department.
Your Profile: Applicants should have
- a solid academic qualification (PhD or equivalent) in Economics (or a related field),
high-quality research output (job market paper(s) and/or publications in international peer-reviewed journals) related to the field of Macroeconomics,
- a commitment to excellence in teaching including the willingness to use multimedia teaching methods,
- experience in the acquisition of third-party funded projects is of advantage, and
- ability to enlarge and deepen the network of contacts to the international academic community.
Knowledge of German is not required but an asset.
