The Department of Economics at Stockholm University invites applications for two three-year post-doctoral positions, starting on September 1, 2025. Strong candidates in all fields of economics will be given serious consideration.

Candidates must have earned a PhD in Economics or related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter. We seek candidates whose research interests complement our existing departmental strengths. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level. The position comes with a light teaching load of about two quarter-length courses per year plus some undergraduate and graduate thesis supervision. More broadly, candidates are expected to contribute actively to the intellectual life of the department.

Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in research, which can be demonstrated by an innovative job market paper with a significant contribution to the literature and strong recommendations.

The position is a three-year full-time appointment and comes with a competitive salary package, including generous research/expense funding.

The Faculty Search Committee will conduct interviews online during the period December 16-18, 2024, according to European Job Market for Economists (EJME) guidelines, as well as at SNS Job market meeting in Stockholm, on December 11, 2024. Other arrangements are possible for short-listed candidates who are unable to schedule an interview during this period.

To apply, submit your CV, a cover letter, your job market paper and at least two letters of recommendation at https://econjobmarket.org by November 15, 2024.
