The Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is seeking to hire two research economists for its Financial Markets group. We are especially interested in candidates with a minimum of three years of experience at an academic or policy institution who have research interests in one of the following areas: financial markets, macro finance, consumer/household finance, or banking & financial institutions.

Qualified candidates are required to have a PhD in finance or economics and should have a track record of publications related to one or more of the above areas that is commensurate with the length of their career. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct independent research that is published in top academic journals, provide in-depth analysis to Bank policy briefings, and contribute to the mission of the Bank. Excellent communication skills are required.

The Department maintains a vibrant research environment, provides substantial research support, and houses several research centers including the Center for Quantitative Economic Research, and the Center for Financial Innovation and Stability. The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is also the site of the Atlanta Research Data Center which provides restricted access to non-publicly available Census data. These positions require access to confidential supervisory information and/or FOMC information, which is limited to "Protected Individuals" as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law.
