We are seeking a motivated and committed professional to join the faculty of Vilnius University as an Associate Professor or Professor of Economics. This position offers the opportunity to engage in teaching, research, and fostering academic development at one of the top universities in the Baltic region.
As experts in their field, professors and associate professors provide insights and recommendations to society, when necessary. They maintain professional relations with their colleagues abroad and take an active part in national and international associations in their field. They promote economics specialization and economics, quantitative economics finances and other studies. They implement other functions assigned to a professor related to studies, research, methodological and organizational activity, as provided for in the legal acts of the University.
Associate Professor at Vilnius University is a scientist conducting independent research and/or experimental development activities, capable of publishing their results in international scientific publications, competently leading the activities of students and junior staff, capable of teaching students of all levels and guiding these studies.
Professor at Vilnius University is a recognized leader in their field of research and studies in Lithuania; it is the highest teaching position at the University. The Professor’s responsibilities include scientific research and/or experimental development activities as well as disseminating their results on international levels, research-based studies, contributing to the training of researchers and lecturers, providing expert recommendations, carrying out educational activities, educating society at large and/or disseminating achievements of culture.
Qualifications:
Relevant when applying for associate professor position:

PhD in Economics field;

Previous participation in national and international projects;

Publications in Academic Journal Guide 2 and higher-tier journals;

Experience in leading international research projects.
Relevant when applying for professor‘s position:

PhD in Economics field;

Supervision of a doctoral student and/or postdoctoral intern;

Experience in leading and participating in national and international projects;
-
Publications in the Academic Journal Guide 3+ list;

Participation in the editorial boards of AJG scientific journals.
Relevant to both positions:

Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to student-centred learning;

A proven track record of research publications in recognized AJG-ranked academic journals;

Ability to effectively articulate complex concepts and engage students in a classroom setting;

Collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to efficiently work in a diverse academic community.
