Assistant Professor, Any Field

The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position. The appointment is expected to be at the rank of Assistant Professor, but appointment at a higher rank is possible under exceptional circumstances. We welcome applications from qualified candidates in any field of Economics. The position start date is August 1, 2025.

Job Duties:

Teaching, research, and service to the institution. All McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Candidates should have completed their PhD or be near completion. An applicant’s record of performance must provide evidence of an innovative research portfolio. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to show a capacity to teach, mentor, and support students of diverse lived experiences, with a particular attention to women and other designated groups that are underrepresented in the discipline.

McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.
