Aix Marseille School of Economics (AMSE, http://www.amse-aixmarseille.fr/en) is inviting applications for five postdoctoral fellowships in economics. The five positions are organised as follows:

1) Three positions "All Fields".

2) One position on the theme "Families, migration and growth". This post-doctoral fellow will work together with Professor Cecilia Garcia-Peñalosa on the project “Families, migration and growth”. The project will use historical microdata to assess how gender norms and genders outcomes have changed over time, notable in response to immigration. The selected candidate should have experience working with historical data.

3) One position in Development Economics. The fellow is expected to work on the ANR FISCAID in collaboration with Professor Nathalie Ferrière, the principal investigator. This project aims to provide new empirical insights into the role of foreign aid in shaping fiscal behavior in recipient countries. Using Uganda as a case study, the project will explore the impact of external assistance on domestic public expenditure and revenue mobilization at both national and subnational levels.

Applicants are expected to show outstanding commitment to research and must have obtained their PhD when taking up the position. Knowledge of French is not required. AMSE is located in two campuses (Aix-en-Provence and Marseille) with scientific activity in both. Subject to availability, fellows may chose in which campus to have the principal office. Aix-Marseille School of economics provides a high quality research environment and appropriate research funds.

Fellowships have a duration of three years, subject to a successful mid-term review. The starting date is September 1st, 2025.

Aix-Marseille School of economics is an equal opportunity employer.

Interviews will take place in the second half of March 2025 and decision is to be expected within the few days that follow the interviews.
