The Department of Economics at the University of Bonn is looking for a
Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Econometrics or Statistics (E13 TV-L, 100%, 3+ years)
The postdoctoral research fellow will join the econometrics and statistics group at the Institute of Finance and Statistics. The appointment is full-time for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of renewal for an additional three years. The starting date is October 1, 2026 or earlier. Salaries are regulated by the German Higher Education Law and will be set according to the E13 TV-L scheme (currently at least 57,708 Euros per year).
The position offers early-career researchers the opportunity to pursue an independent research agenda while gaining valuable teaching experience. In addition to conducting research, candidates are expected to engage actively in the intellectual life of the group, participate in the econometrics and statistics seminar, and present their work at international conferences. Funding will be provided for research visits, conference travel, and related activities. Teaching responsibilities typically consist of one course or student seminar per semester and can be arranged flexibly.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in economics, statistics, or a closely related field, and demonstrate strong potential for publication in leading econometrics or statistics journals. Knowledge of German is not required.
