The successful candidate will, through his or her research and teaching, contribute significantly to the mission of excellence of the University in the field of macroeconomics or applied microeconomics.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Through your undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and your research activities, you will contribute to the faculty’s pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, you will promote your discipline and actively participate in the daily activities of a renowned institution. As such, you will:
- Teach in the three cycles (bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees), and to advise graduate students;
- Develop an innovative and internationally competitive research agenda, and to publish in the best journals in economics;
- Contribute to the University’s international standing and to the diffusion of knowledge via conferences, publications, and by presenting your research at the best international conferences;
- Obtain financing from the major funding organizations;
- Contribute to the good functioning and development of the department, of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and the University.
Qualifications
- Ph. D. in Economics;
- Research expertise and demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research;
- Excellent publication record, or demonstrate excellent publication potential, in macroeconomics or applied microeconomics;
- Ability to provide high-quality university teaching and advice to graduate students;
- Have adequate proficiency of the French language or be committed to learning it once hired, through the Université de Montréal’s French language support program, in accordance with the Université de Montréal’s Language Policy.
