The ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim, Germany is one of the leading economic research institutes in Europe. The ZEW is a non-profit organization and works in the field of frontier empirical economic research and high-level policy advice. It is integrated into an extensive national and international network of universities and research institutes. The ZEW is looking to fill the following position in the Research Department "Corporate Taxation and Public Finance"

6-Year Postdoc with Option for a Permanent Contract (f/m/d, 100%)

As successful applicant, you will contribute to the research agenda of the research department of Corporate Taxation and Public Finance, which explores questions around fiscal policy and taxation in the context of European integration. The position provides the opportunity to develop an independent research agenda in an academically vibrant environment. It is expected that applicants show interest in engaging with projects that connect cutting-edge research with high-level economic policy advice. There are no teaching requirements.

Your profile:

• Ph.D. in economics or business administration (completed or close to graduation)

• Excellent past research and an ambitious agenda in public economics or taxation

• Interest in economic policy advice in European and/or German contexts

The position is full-time for an initial period of two years, extendable by three plus one years, and with a possibility to apply for a permanent (tenured) contract after this period. ZEW offers additional benefits such as access to its international research network and career development support, including funding to attend courses and do research visits.
