The Amsterdam School of Economics (ASE) at the University of Amsterdam seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Professor in Econometrics and Data Science (tenure track).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have, or be close to obtaining, a PhD degree in Quantitative Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Data Science or a related field. We seek candidates with a high potential for creative and independent research, the willingness to collaborate and interact with members of the team, the ability to teach mathematics and quantitative economics related courses to undergraduate and graduate students, and the ability to communicate research in seminars, conferences and in the classroom.

OUR OFFER
Assistant Professor appointments are six-year, tenure-track positions, with tenure based on demonstrated excellence in research and teaching. The Amsterdam School of Economics (ASE) offers competitive European salaries. In the first three years, the gross monthly salary will typically range from €4,728 to €6,433 (salary scale 11), plus 16.3% in holiday and year-end allowances. Compensation is based on a 38-hour workweek and follows the salary scales and the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. Researchers from outside the Netherlands can apply for a substantial temporary tax reduction. The University of Amsterdam offers an attractive pension scheme. Teaching loads are moderate and most instruction is in English; successful candidates are expected to learn Dutch and be able to teach in Dutch by the end of the tenure track. The vacancy is within the Quantitative Economics section of the ASE, which is responsible for teaching most quantitative economics related courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. The section produces internationally acclaimed research and covers three different research programs: Actuarial Science & Mathematical Finance, Econometrics, and Equilibrium, Expectations & Dynamics (CeNDEF).
