The ifo Institute is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research position, with a six-year contract, based in Munich, Germany.
We are seeking a candidate who is deeply committed to conducting high-quality, policy-relevant research, with a strong motivation to advance her*his own research agenda and willingness to engage with the public and the media. The ability and willingness to raise third-party research funding are expected.
We are particularly interested in a candidate in any field of economics who leverages state-of-the-art machine learning and causal inference methods to innovative datasets, such as large-scale data, text as data, or satellite imagery (‘Big Data Economics’).

The position has no formal teaching obligation; however, limited teaching is encouraged.
