The Department of Economics (DSE) at the University of Bologna invites applications for two post-doctoral positions, starting in the 2025/26 academic year.

The Department of Economics ranks among the top economics departments worldwide—1st in Italy, 13th in Europe, and 40th globally—and hosts large and expanding research clusters in environmental and behavioural economics.

We seek candidates with a background in Environmental Economics, Behavioural Economics, or related fields at the intersection of these areas. Particular consideration will be given to applicants with demonstrable skills in (game-) theoretic modelling as well as experience in field experiments’ (RCTs’) design and implementation.

The position offers a competitive compensation package and a dedicated research budget. The successful candidate will contribute to the GREEN TIPPING project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC). The project investigates social tipping interventions by means of modelling and experimental methods (conducted online, in the lab and in the field).

There are no teaching obligations. Knowledge of Italian is not required, and there are no nationality restrictions. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse, inclusive research community.
