The Department of Economics (DSE) at the University of Bologna and the RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE) invite applications for a four-year post-doctoral position, starting in the 2025/26 academic year.

We seek candidates with a background in Environmental Economics, Behavioural Economics, Macroeconomics, or related fields at the intersection of these areas. Particular consideration will be given to applicants with experience in survey design and implementation.

The position offers a competitive compensation package and a dedicated research budget. The successful candidate will contribute to the BELIEFS project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC). The project investigates transition-related expectations and their influence on low-carbon transition dynamics, and includes experimental surveys targeting both firms and policy-makers.

There are no teaching obligations. Knowledge of Italian is not required, and there are no nationality restrictions. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse, inclusive research community.

According to RePEc, the Department of Economics ranks among the top economics departments worldwide—1st in Italy, 13th in Europe, and 40th globally—and hosts large and expanding research clusters in environmental and behavioural economics.
