On Nov. 3, the recruiter updated the first sentence to include "or finance."

The Deutsche Bundesbank’s Directorate General Financial Stability invites PhD-candidates (or those nearing completion of their PhD) in economics or finance to express their interest in joining our team.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose area of expertise covers one of the following fields:

  • Structural and digital transformation of the financial system: Data-driven empirical analysis of digital innovations (such as AI, crypto assets, stablecoins, CBDCs) and their impact on the financial system;
  • Macrofinance, in particular modelling: time series econometrics, financial econometrics, structural models.

The Bundesbank's Directorate General Financial Stability provides policy advice in line with the Deutsche Bundesbank's financial stability mandate. It contributes to the Bundesbank’s positioning in national, European and international policy fora and the debate on current and conceptual issues in macro-finance, financial stability, and macroprudential policy. Excellent drafting skills in both German and English are required.
