The Paris School of Economics seeks applications for a postdoctoral researcher who will participate in ongoing projects on environment and development economics, working closely with Matthew GORDON and other PSE researchers. The contract will be for a 1-year term, but a 1-year extension is possible depending on interest.

Research topics of interest include, but are not limited to: satellite data and machine learning, agriculture, natural disasters, waste and plastic pollution, deforestation, and humanitarian aid.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent research leading to publications in top journals
  • Contribute to the intellectual life of the department.

Profile

  • PhD in economics completed
  • Experience with machine learning methods is a plus
  • Proficiency in statistical tools (R, Stata, or Python)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
