Postdoctoral Research Fellow
The Department of Economics at Monash University is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for a 2-year fixed term position.
About the Position
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research about Politics and the Environment, both broadly defined. You will have the opportunity to develop research expertise and shape the direction of this growing field. The goal of the position is for the research team to develop a strong research agenda that will endure for the coming years. The position will be directly supervised by Ricardo Dahis, the Primary Investigator (PI).
The successful candidate will carry out independent and collaborative research, design research projects, and contribute to the development of applications for competitive funding under the guidance of senior colleagues.
The postdoctoral fellow is expected to be an active in-person member of the broader Monash research community. That includes attending seminars, attending joint supervision meetings, potentially advising students, etc.
The position is initially set for two years. It is renewable to a third year subject to budget availability and approval.
The position will require teaching one class ("unit") at Monash per year. The postdoc will be the "chief evaluator", i.e. the person responsible for the class delivery, admin, materials, etc. Classes typically run for 12 weeks within a semester. There is flexibility over choice of topic and time of the year, but these are to be arranged with the PI and the Department of Economics.
