DULBEA, the Center for Applied Economics and Policy Research of the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management at the Université libre de Bruxelles, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Economics.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team working on labor-market and health policies, with particular attention to vulnerable groups, including disability-benefit recipients, low-skilled workers, jobseekers, and workers experiencing mental health difficulties. DULBEA values research at the scientific frontier with strong societal relevance and policy impact, and fosters an environment that bridges academic excellence and real-world application. Current projects include large-scale randomized controlled trials and experimental studies conducted in collaboration with Belgian labor administrations.

The postdoctoral fellow is expected to contribute to this research agenda through the WORK4ALL-MH project on mental health within organizations, integrating legal technology management practices and the development of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems. An interest in gender economics would be an asset. The position will prioritize these research topics with the aim of producing high-quality publications. The fellowship may start flexibly, as early as July 2026, for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of extension for an additional year.

Candidate Profile:

Applicants should hold, or expect to complete by summer 2026, a PhD in Economics, with research interests in labour, disability, health economics, and policy evaluation. Strong empirical microeconomics and econometric skills are essential, as is fluency in English. Experience with large language models, survey design, RCTs, or field experiments is an asset. We particularly welcome candidates with excellent Python or R skills and an interest in using AI tools for policy-relevant empirical research.
