The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University (ECON MUNI), invites applications for the following fixed-term position at the Department of Economics:

Postdoctoral Researcher in Empirical Microeconomics

Masaryk University, Faculty of Economics and Administration, is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of empirical microeconomics.

This position offers a unique opportunity to join the Department of Economics at Masaryk University as a researcher specializing in empirical microeconomics.

We are looking for a candidate:

o with a PhD degree in economics (or related field) and an international research network

o with education and experience in empirical economics with focus on labor, health, human and social capital, migration, or refugees’ integration.

o with a research potential demonstrated by a strong job market paper or publication record

o with excellent background in empirical methods

o who is a self-driven person.

What does the position entail:

o full-time position as a postdoctoral researcher in the field of empirical microeconomics

o peer-reviewed research and its presentation at international conferences

o contribution to the preparation and implementation of national and international grant proposals

o participation in ongoing and upcoming research projects

o teaching in English-taught programmes and courses is possible but not expected. No knowledge of the Czech language is expected or required for professional or social purposes.

o The position is offered as a 24 months fixed-term contract. Possible prolongation depends on the availability of project funding.

o the monthly salary of 2,400 EUR/month (gross).

o 50% time for working on individual projects within the scope of the position.

Members of the empirical microeconomics research group conduct research with peers from other Czech, European, and American universities. Members of the faculty have published in journals such as Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Economic Behaviour and Organization, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Scientific Reports, European Economic Review or Public Choice. Empirical research group extensively cooperates with experimental and health economics research groups.
