Applicants are invited to apply for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Economics with the USC Marshall School of Business. The post-holder will have responsibility for carrying out research as part of a team investigating the causes and consequences of violence against women in the United States. This research will involve collaboration with Dr. Bilge Erten (Northeastern University), Dr. Emily Nix (University of Southern California), and Dr. Shawn Ratcliff (United States Census Bureau). The post-holder will also be able to manage their own research tasks and work with some independence on assigned tasks. The post-holder will hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD in a relevant discipline together with relevant research experience in empirical microeconomics.
This is a one-year, externally funded position. Conditional on successful grant fundraising, the position could be extended. The successful candidate is expected to immediately qualify to apply for access to a Census FSRDC. Already having Special Sworn Status is strongly preferred. While we have a preference for a candidate currently living in or willing to relocate to Los Angeles, Boston, or Pittsburgh, we are open to remote work contingent on access to a Census FSRDC and approval.
If a suitable candidate is identified, the position can start as early as September 2026 or as late as August 2027.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000.
