The Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland seeks new or experienced economists with research interests in any field of economics. Expertise in inflation, monetary/macro, regional economics, labor economics, or other applied micro fields are especially welcome. Job responsibilities include publishing research in professional journals, writing for Bank publications, and advising Bank leadership on economic conditions and policy issues. To qualify a Ph.D. in economics or finance is required. Experienced candidates are required to have a publication record commensurate with experience.

  • The starting salary range for the Research Economist I position is between $152,200 and $209,300 annually in addition to annual performance-based discretionary bonuses. Final salary and offer will be determined based on the applicant’s relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
  • The starting salary range for the Research Economist II position is between $169,000 and $232,300 annually in addition to annual performance-based discretionary bonuses. Final salary and offer will be determined based on the applicant’s relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
  • The starting salary range for the Senior Research Economist position is between $190,000 and $240,000 annually in addition to annual performance-based discretionary bonuses. Final salary and offer will be determined based on the applicant’s relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
  • The starting salary range for the Economic Policy Advisor position is between $210,000 and $260,000 annually in addition to annual performance-based discretionary bonuses.   • The starting salary range for the Senior Economic Policy Advisor position is between $250,000 and $310,000 annually in addition to annual performance-based discretionary bonuses.
