The Institute of Economic Research, Kyoto University, is searching for a tenure track assistant/associate professor (1 person).

The tenure-track assistant/associate professor position is for a six-year term and is promotable to a tenured position subject to mid-term evaluations conducted before the completion of the third year and final evaluations conducted before completion of the fifth year. With positive evaluations, a promotion may be made at the beginning of the sixth year, and occasionally, a tenure track faculty member with an outstanding research record may be promoted before the fifth year. 【Requirements】

An applicant must hold a Ph.D. (or is expected to acquire a Ph.D. by the beginning of employment) and should be currently engaged in research promoted by our Institute. An applicant will be required to sign a letter of consent promising to comply with the Kyoto University Code on Terms of Employment for Faculty Members before any final offer is made.

【Evaluation Process】

All applicants will be screened in the light of the standards described above. Those who pass screening will undergo a selection process involving a research presentation and interviews by our faculty members.

【Expected Start of Employment】

April 1, 2027, or later.

6 months.
