The Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus University invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship, starting in the fall of 2027.

Research Fields: Labor economics, International trade, The economic effects of automation technologies

The position is based at the Centre for Economic and Firm Research (CEFAU) at Aarhus University. CEFAU is an economic research and analysis centre that studies firms, markets, and the economic and policy conditions shaping business activity. The position is funded by the Carlsberg Foundation through a Semper Ardens Accelerate grant for the project "Automation and Skill Development in the Global Economy: Beyond the Limitations of the Task-Based Approach", led by Associate Professor Daisuke Adachi. The project studies how automation technologies, such as industrial robots and generative artificial intelligence, affect labour markets. The postdoc will contribute to the project with an emphasis on empirical and quantitative work.

The duration of the post-doctoral fellowship is 3 years, but a longer duration (up to 4 years) may be negotiated with the successful candidate. We offer favourable conditions regarding research facilities, data access, time devoted to research, travel support, etc. For non-Danish researchers, a favourable tax-scheme exists. There are limited teaching responsibilities in connection with the position. In exceptional circumstances, the position may be converted into an assistant professorship.
