The Department of Microeconomics and Public Economics (MPE) at the School of Business and Economics (SBE), Maastricht University, invites applications for an Assistant Professor position. We welcome candidates with a strong research profile in microeconomics, public economics, political economy, urban economics, inequality, health economics, behavioural economics, and/or experimental economics or related fields.

  • Our goal: Strengthen and diversify our research and education in microeconomics and public economics – shaping knowledge that helps us understand and improve how economies and societies function.

MPE focuses on high-quality research in the above-mentioned fields. As Assistant Professor, you will contribute to research and education in the department. You are expected to strengthen and diversify the department’s research profile, publish in high-quality journals, and engage in external collaborations. In addition to research, you are expected to contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. All teaching is conducted in English. We also expect you to apply for competitive research funding.
