The Department of Economics at Tilburg University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Economics.
The Department of Economics is seeking an outstanding academic who conducts research that addresses important economic questions and attaches a meaningful role to firms, markets, strategic behavior, or institutions in understanding choices and outcomes. We especially welcome research that contributes to understanding major economic and societal challenges, such as market concentration and inequality, technological change, geopolitical tensions and economic security. We value research that combines rigorous economic analysis with original and important questions and welcome different methodologies. Scientific excellence, originality, and the potential to contribute to frontier research in economics and policy debates will be central to our selection.
The successful candidate has the ability to engage in high-quality teaching in economics at the undergraduate and graduate level and actively contribute to grant acquisition. They are expected to increase the international and national visibility of our department through societal impact, such as policy advice, collaboration with societal and economic stakeholders, and the dissemination of research findings to a broader audience. In addition, the candidate is expected to take on academic leadership responsibilities over time, for example through teaching coordination, program directorship, committee membership, or other administrative and leadership roles within the school and the university.
Applicants should indicate in their cover letter how their profile fits with these requirements.
